The following program has been developed for a pediatric day health care facility for medically fragile children 22 years and younger. The plan shall provide an overview of consumer protections, health care services, and behavioral management. These services shall be provided in a daycare setting.

We strive to help out the families within our community as the caretakers of children with disabilities and complex medical needs can be a huge and often stressful responsibility. It is important to STAR Center Pediatric Day Health Care to support these families and provide a safe environment for their child. We hope to provide a healthy balance for caretakers so that they may work, spend time with other family members, and/or rest. In order to be a good caretaker, you must take care of yourself also.

Referrals may come from Madera County Office of Education and Central Valley Regional Center.  Families are encouraged to contact STAR Center Pediatric Day Health Care directly to inquire and set up a tour. We will work with the child’s school schedule, and we are open during school breaks.

Parent Responsibilities

1. Providing all meals and snacks to be utilized by the child during their attendance at the day program.
2. Providing the day program with current physician orders and promptly updating them whenever changes are made.
3. Supplying any necessary hygiene products to be used by the child while participating in the day program, this includes diapers.
4. Providing the required medications to be administered during the day program hours, ensuring that all medications are current and not expired.
5. Offering or coordinating transportation services for the pick-up and drop-off of the child.
6. Ensuring that the child possesses a current TB test prior to admission, prioritizing their health and safety.
7. Maintain consistent and open communication with STAR Center Pediatric Day Health Care.
