STAR Center Pediatric Day Health Care was established in 2023.
We have many years of experience with providing care for adult individuals with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs through our sister companies.
We provide nursing services and support in a day care setting. We serve children aged 3 to 22 years, who have complex medical conditions. Our office hours are from 7:00a to 7:00p, Monday through Friday.
To qualify for our program, your children must require skilled nursing care services (see Admission Eligibility) during daytime hours. For example, feedings and/or medications via g-tube, seizure monitoring, oxygen therapy, catheter care, etc. Your child will need to have a current TB test (within the last 30 days) and physical prior to the assigned start date. You will fill out various forms with a member of the Administrative Team to complete the initial assessment. A copy of your child’s doctors’ orders and the most current medication list will need to be provided.
We do not provide transportation. Transportation services may be arranged through your child’s school, their school bus can drop them off after school. In addition, parents may complete pick-ups and drop-offs.
There are many benefits to having your child attend our program. They will be in a safe and supportive environment where their medical and emotional needs will be cared for by trained staff. This gives you time to work, run errands, rest, spend time with other family members, etc. It’s important for caregivers to take care of themselves!
OUR PROGRAM IS NOT COST TO FAMILIES! Services are funded through Medi-Cal. After an initial assessment, your child will be allotted a number of hours per month for your child to attend. You create your child’s schedule according to yours and your family’s schedule. We accept referrals through multiple agencies, but you can contact us directly to set up a meeting and tour.
